This washed coffee comes from the Worka Wuri washing station in Gedeb, Ethiopia. Local smallholder farmers grow indigenous heirloom varieties at elevations up to 2,100 meters above sea level. Combined with rich soil and hand-picking, the result is a clean and elegant cup.
At Worka Wuri, great care is taken at every stage of the washed process:
Fresh cherries are hand-sorted, floated to remove defects, then fermented for 36–48 hours depending on climate. The parchment is thoroughly washed, graded by density, and dried on raised African beds for 12–15 days. During drying, the parchment is raked regularly and covered during the hottest hours and overnight to protect from moisture and heat stress.
This method brings out a crisp, tea-like, and floral profile that defines the best of Ethiopian washed coffees.
Unlike farm-processed lots, this coffee benefits from centralized processing at Worka Wuri, ensuring consistency and clarity in every batch. Farmers are rewarded for ripe cherry picking, and careful sorting brings out the best in each bean.

Worka Wuri is a beautiful example of how Ethiopia’s native varieties, high elevation, and meticulous processing can come together in a vibrant and expressive cup. A perfect choice for those who appreciate purity, brightness, and origin character.
