More About This Coffee

Justina’s journey into coffee cultivation deeply roots in her family tradition, growing up on a farm that cherished the art of growing coffee. Now, with her own farm situated at 2,000 meters above sea level, she and her husband cultivate the esteemed Geisha variety. This altitude offers a cooler climate, ideal for reducing pest issues and allowing the Geisha coffee to thrive.

A cornerstone of Justina’s success lies in her sustainable practices, notably her use of organic fertilizers made from discarded coffee pulp. This not only showcases an eco-friendly approach but also enriches the soil, enhancing the growth of her coffee plants.

The meticulous care in the coffee production process, from selectively handpicking ripe cherries to the detailed post-harvest steps — pulping, fermenting, washing, and drying on raised beds — ensures the highest quality. Each step, carefully executed, contributes to the distinct flavor profile of the Geisha coffee, reflecting Justina’s dedication to preserving her family’s legacy while embracing sustainable methods. Her story epitomizes the blend of tradition, passion, and innovation in producing specialty coffee.

To us, good coffee is the result of careful craftsmanship, attention to detail and a deep respect for the coffee beans and the people who produce them.
